NATALIA MALYUKOVA NATA
My journey into the arts began early. Born in Russia, I nurtured a deep passion for arts, starting with painting at Fine Arts studios, then dancing ballet, singing, and playing music. At the age of 13, my family and I relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, where I spent my formative years and graduated from the University of Art and Design. In my early twenties, I moved to London to immerse myself in its vibrant artistic scene, initially aspiring to become a designer.
During my time pursuing a master's at the University of Westminster, I discovered a profound love for painting, which became a cherished hobby alongside my career as an interior designer and architect. University further refined my skills, exposing me to diverse techniques in drawing, with academic figure drawing as a favourite, as well as 3D rendering, video and animation production. While I thrived in interior design, my passion for painting grew, eventually becoming my primary focus.
A few years after returning to Geneva, which I now proudly call home, I decided to unveil about a hundred of paintings I'd kept private for over a decade. These works capture my exploration of emotional perception, stored and interpreted in my mental space.
The result is four different axes of work, resulting in four collections: Wander-World, Journey Through The Multiverse, Aeolus's Dreams, and Free Associations.
JOURNEY THROUGH THE MULTIVERSE

Journey Through the Multiverse is a collection of acrylic paintings made with mixed techniques, using brushes, spatulas, and pouring. It is inspired by the infinite cosmos we live in and dream of exploring. It is not only about a physical and quantum reality of existence but also about a journey of a soul through time. This series aims to expand our minds and seek our place in the vast universe. It invites us to ponder profound philosophical questions: Which reality do we truly live in? Can we travel through multiverses? What trace do we leave behind in space and time?
WANDER-WORLD

Wander-world is a unique and magical universe. This collection of acrylic paintings is realized in various techniques and illustrative inclination. The characters and scenes represented there are a playful reflection of the Adventure of Life. They are fairytale-like reflections and de-dramatized representation of situations and feelings coming from the "austere" outside world. Moments are transformed into metaphors that nourish storytelling and digest the living experience in a somewhat auto-derisory way. Through these interpretations, I share my wonders.
AEOLUS’S DREAMS
image:AEOLUS’S DREAMS Natalia Malyukova @2025 imagofeminae Winter 2025 XLII.
This collection of acrylic paintings is created using the pouring technique, with air as the primary tool to disperse paint across the canvas. These abstract compositions explore various themes such as the depth within a specific range of colours, rich bursts emanating from the centre playing with richness of colours, details and eye movement, bi-coloured backgrounds intertwined with flowing garlands of colour, and other creative experiments. Through this work, I convey emotions through colours in an intuitive and abstract manner. Each composition reflects a moment, a feeling, or a mood. It is a form of non-verbal, universal communication, rooted in the fundamental laws of physics that govern the movement of liquids under the influence of gravity and air.
FREE ASSOCIATIONS

This collection of acrylic paintings is created using a variety of techniques, drawing inspiration from both modern and contemporary artists. It focuses on inner feelings and thoughts, processed within my mental space and expressed through free associations. The creative process behind these pieces embraces the rejection of mental censorship, allowing abstract ideas and emotional states to emerge intuitively. In this way, it becomes a path to inner freedom, offering a direct soul-to-soul connection between me, as the artist, and the observer.
I do feel a compulsive need to switch between these collections and wonder if one day they will merge.
In 2018, I held my first exhibition at the Usine Kugler, with the Arboretum association in Geneva. This unexpected opportunity marked the beginning of my public artistic journey. Later, in 2024, a series of artistic encounters led me to join AWA Factory (Amazing Women Artists), a newly created association of talented female artists, leading to an exhibition at Espace Candide in Ferney-Voltaire, France. Recently, this January 2025, I showcased my latest series, Her Spirit at an international exhibition in Berlin with Galerie Azur.
Her Spirit series is part of the collection Journeys Through the Multiverse. These paintings portrays the traces left by humans in space and time. Feelings are kinetically described through movement and body positions reflect moods and moments in life. The first one is Her Spirit: Outwards with the side profile with a neat face - she's in an effort of escaping the situation she is in with sticky past trailing behind her. The second is Her Spirit: Inwards - on a slightly lighter background, you can see the side profile neat from the back side. She's turned backwards, observing her past. The next one is Her Spirit: Facing, she's standing front facing with upward-turned hands. She delves into accepting past and future, in a calm and stoic way, embracing her spirituality. The latest one is Her Spirit: Forward. She's confidently walking forward, embodying determination and strength. Each piece in this series represents a step in the soul's journey, inviting us to contemplate our place in the infinite cosmos.

My next exhibition showcasing Her Spirit will be held in Venice, Italy, during the carnival. The exhibition, called Whispering Realms, will take place at the Castillo Gallery, in the heart of the festivity. I invite you to visit it - from 14th of February to 4th March 2025.
My art is my passion, my elixir, permeating every facet of my life. Now, I fully embrace my calling, leaving the design industry to dedicate myself entirely to painting and exploring the emotional perception of the world around me.
